Starting School - Admissions

At Newlaithes Nursery & Infant School we have two reception classes and can therefore admit up to 60 children each year. Details of how places are allocated can be found here.

Under normal circumstances we have an open door policy and would currently be offering visits to school for prospective parents to have a look round and ask us any questions you may have. Unfortunately, under Covid restrictions we are unable to offer visits to school this year.

You are welcome to contact us to ask any questions you may have. We are hopeful new parents will be able to visit us before the summer holidays.

Cumbria Local Authority decides our admissions. Admissions Team members are always happy to advise parents and carers about applying for school places. You can contact them on 01228 221582. They can also advise you about being placed on our waiting list for places if none are available in your child's year group.

The deadline for applying for a school place for September 2021 has now passed. If you haven't yet applied for a place contact school admissions urgently.

Information about appealing for a school place should you be unsuccessful is available here.

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our catchment area and the Local Authority admission arrangements below. Further details are also available in our prospectus (above).
