At Newlaithes Nursery & Infant School we take safeguarding our children extremely seriously, including our duty under the Prevent Strategy. It is at the forefront of everything we do and all staff and governors share this approach. All staff members and governors have received appropriate training in safeguarding. 

Statutory Guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education states that:

"Staff members working with children are advised to maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here’ where safeguarding is concerned. When concerned about the welfare of a child, staff members should always act in the interests of the child. "

The Designated Safeguarding Lead at Newlaithes Nursery & Infant School is the Headteacher, Mr Simon Wilkinson. He can be contacted on 01228 525756. Out of working hours- contact the Emergency Duty Team on 0333 303 3892

Calls between 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4:30pm Friday will go direct to the hub for action.

Emergency calls during evenings and weekends will be answered by the emergency duty team that can be contacted on the same number.
