At Newlaithes Nursery and Infant School, we provide various opportunities for children to experience and explore music in different ways.
We have access to a range of different instruments, including glockenspiels, ukuleles, drums, boomwhackers and a range of various percussion instruments. We teach the children about these instruments and the children will get to experience playing them and learning about music.
The children will learn many different songs and will use their voices expressively and creatively by singing many songs and rhymes.
Our children will be exposed to a range of different genres of music, including music from around the world, classical, film music, country, folk and jazz music.
We use the Charanga scheme of work to teach some of our music lessons and this provides clear progression throughout each unit of work.
